Sometimes You Have To Think Differently

If there’s one question we hear more than any other at The South Beach Photo Booth Company, it’s this:
“What’s new?”

And honestly, that’s a tough one. Creating something never-before-seen that also fits the vibe, the vision, and the budget isn’t always realistic. Plus, sometimes the “latest and greatest” just isn’t the right move for the event.

That’s where we shine. We love taking something familiar, cranking the volume all the way up, and turning it into an experience no one sees coming.

Which is why we were thrilled to be invited back for the Shamy family’s Mitzvah reception for the second time. This time, we rolled in with a fully custom Playing Card Photo Experience to match their Elevated Casino theme—and it hit big.

So…How’d We Do It?

Every great photo starts the same way: show a little face. That led us straight to the idea of Custom Playing Cards.

We designed a contemporary playing card canvas inspired by the event’s branding and logos, making sure it felt modern, bold, and right at home in the room. The event’s circular logo became the back of the card, creating a true, double-sided playing card just like the real deal.

Guests picked their face card and suit, each with colors tied to that suit, and stepped in front of dramatic studio lighting designed to create deep shadows and serious presence. We finished it off with a custom black-and-white filter to keep everything sleek and timeless.

Each card was printed double-sided and delivered in a protective trading-card-style sleeve—because epic deserves to stay crisp.

So how did we make something old feel brand new?
Trading cards.

We took the same process we use for custom sports trading cards and remixed it into a playing card format that looks and feels like it came straight out of a Bicycle deck. Photography, bold graphics, and a whole lot of creative energy came together to create something totally unexpected.
