With SO many new items on the horizon for SoBe it’s hard to spotlight just one for a blog post, but with the recent development for SoBe Skinz, suddenly we had a clear winner.

For anyone not familiar with our newest addition to our great line up of event services, we present to you, SoBe Skinz, the custom made, on the spot skinz made for all of the latest devices like MP3 players, cell phones, portable gaming devices, laptops, and e-book readers!  Guests choices range from a huge variety of high impact backgrounds, a varied assortment of digital art accents from pop culture to high fashion, and even an assortment of “bling” accents for any device!  And the skinz are made right before their eyes in no time at all.  Our tag team staff of host and designer also help to apply each guests’ skin to their device if present, or show them the 3 easy steps of applying to their device at home.

While SoBe Skinz covers many of the most popular and latest devices it can be a little difficult to keep up with the vast array of technology coming out all the time.  But now, with the addition to our Bling decals, guests can now personalize any device they wish at an event as well.  With our sparkling catalog of Swarovski style crystals in colorful patters, phrases, or monograms there is something for each guests’ taste for their personal device.  And this all comes at no additional charge to the service, leaving no guest left without something completely unique made just for them.  It’s a true party keepsake!

Q: How is SoBe Charms different from other keepsakes that we might see at an event?

A: SoBe Charms is a Full Color image which is permanently heat sublimated on to each individual full metal charm.  Instead of the monotone of a laser dog tag, or the plastic feel of a photo keychain, SoBe Charms gives the wearer something special to have from the event that they will proudly wear and keep with them day to day.

Q: Is SoBe Charms only available as Dog Tags?

A: No!  With many upgrade options available, SoBe Charms can be whatever the host or the guests desire.  At it’s most basic level, guests get to choose from the classic Dog Tag style, or the Tiffany© style Heart charms in their choice of Nickel, Gold, or Liquid Chrome finishes and their choice of either the classic ball chain or the updated sausage chain style.

Q: What sort of options are there for upgrades?

A: Pendants, Bling, XL, to name a few.  The Pendant upgrade allows guests 4 more options from the basics of SoBe Charms, namely the stylish pendant size dog tag, the pendant size heart and the option to wear them on either a corded necklace, phone charm, or with a matching chrome keychain ring and chain.  The XL upgrade brings the breakaway heart (perfect for friends and lovers) as well as the super size dog tag (great for huge groups) into the fray for a stunning addition to any event.  And most certainly not to be out done, the Bling option brings some swagger to all of the charms!

Q: Is SoBe Charms only available photo charms?

A: No!  Many of our clients crave something more and we’re only happy to give!  SoBe Name Charms is another great option as either a stand alone favor, or as a great upgrade to the photo charms.  Each charm shape has specially made designs for guests to customize with their name, favorite saying, or whatever they can think of!  Great as a stand alone name charm station, SoBe Charms is a fun way for everyone to take home something special and personalized.

Q: How many charms can be done in an hour?

A: Approximately 60 charms of varying sizes and styles can be done in one hour on average when the demand arises.

Q: Can the guest of honor’s name or logo be placed on one side and the guests’ picture on the other?

A: Yes, although the option to do so comes with one draw back.  It is possible to do an image or logo denoting the event on one side with the guests’ picture or name on the reverse, it merely takes our host agreeing to limiting guests to one style of charm to keep up with the production which we like to maintain.

Q: What if I wanted to make a special charm denoting our event?

A: Let’s do it!  Our Event Charms option is a great way to set aside a special charm for your guests to wear as they enter the reception.  With all kinds of specialty shapes, sizes and materials, making an event charm all your own is a great way to stand out from the crowd.  A diamond shaped charm for a baseball theme? Sure!  A glow in the dark charm for a black light party?  Got it!

Q: But what’s the MOST awesome way of customizing SoBe Charms for my event?

A: Green Screen!  Our unique SoBe Charms coupled with our fantastic green screen technology that’s second to none makes this the ultimate way to have it.  Guests will marvel at the sight of such great keepsakes from your event and they’ll be talking about it for years to come!

A client’s concern is usually rooted in the desire to entertain their guests with a memorable activity/keepsake which is also personalized in celebration of the guest(s) of honor.  A DJ’s concern however is for the event to be every bit the great party that it can be with the minimum amount of people at their seats (much to the chagrin of the caterer) and not on the dance floor as possible.  One can see how having another activity can impede on this philosophy and it makes perfect sense.  Take for example having genuine casino tables at an event or video game stations strewn throughout the reception area.  Both examples can occupy anywhere from 2 to 6 guests per station and with the average number of these stations at an event being 4, that is suddenly a very large percentage of guests occupying themselves away from the festivities for upwards of (potentially) 15 minutes at a time.  Indeed, no one wants to see their dance floor that much emptier just for a little black jack.

However, the competing philosophy of giving guests something else to be occupied by shouldn’t be thrown under the bus right away.  Having worked with many excellent DJ’s in our industry we can tell you that nothing competes with a great MC.  Guests who want to party will party, and nothing will stop the groove of a festive atmosphere (especially with the right shoes).  Most clients personally choose their DJ/MC to help them echo the type of soiree they would most like to have.  As one can imagine this is no easy decision and with respect any other activities should be taken under advisement by those very experienced men and women of the industry.  But in choosing other activities it is possible to have one, if not many other types at festivity which are the most memorable and occupy the least amount of time of one’s guests.  Many of the services which we provide are so advanced in their logistics that they barely take any time at all!  Photo booth sittings span a mere 45 seconds, and our Flip Book station is a simple 6 seconds to make while being a lifetime to enjoy.  The advantage of choosing such a high end activity is not only being fun and memorable, but also being able to be efficient with your guests’ time as well as giving them an opportunity to come back and enjoy it again.

So can you have an amazing dance party while still entertaining your guests with fun activities and keepsakes?  It’s all in the timing.
